fix(ui): align LandingButton sizing and hero/pricing CTA consistency (#833)
* fix(ui): restore theme pill radius on course landing CTAs LandingButton hardcoded rounded-md, so hero Enroll and pricing CTAs lost the per-theme pill radius after CoursePrimaryAction switched to LandingButton. Use --landing-radius-pill and cn() so theme overrides still win. Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> * fix(ui): preserve landing theme button radii Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> * fix(ui): restore hero CTA Button sizing with disabled parity Revert CoursePrimaryAction to the shared Button so hero enroll matches View curriculum sizing (h-10 text-sm). When enrollment is closed, apply landing-button CSS vars with forced opacity so theme color overrides do not keep the hero CTA looking active while pricing stays muted. Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> * fix(ui): align LandingButton sizing and use for hero CTA Match LandingButton sm/md/lg heights to the shared Button scale (h-8/h-9/h-10, text-sm) so hero enroll can use landing-theme tokens without oversized CTAs. CoursePrimaryAction returns to LandingButton for enabled color parity with pricing; disabled overrides are preserved. Terminal hero drops hardcoded hex colors in favor of --landing-button-* tokens. fix(course): coerce metadata.discount to number before save (#830)
* fix(course): coerce metadata.discount to number before save Normalize string discount values from the landing page pricing form and coerce legacy string metadata on ZCourseUpdate validation so course settings saves do not fail with a Zod type error. Fixes classroomio/classroomio#828 Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> * refactor(utils): add shared toFiniteNumber for metadata discount coercion Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> * fix(utils): only coerce string discount values in metadata preprocess Reject broad Number() coercion on booleans and arrays. String and finite number discounts are normalized; invalid types are left for Zod to reject. Addresses Greptile review on #830 Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> * refactor(dashboard): use writable $derived in pricing form again Keep toFiniteNumber coercion in setter effect; derived fields stay in sync when course loads or updates (Svelte 5 writable derived). Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> * fix(utils): reject invalid metadata.discount instead of clearing it Only coerce numeric strings in preprocess; leave invalid strings, non-finite numbers, and other types for Zod to reject. fix(ui): let Page.SettingsActions sticky bar escape its wrapper (#825)
The bar was nested in an extra shrink-0 div together with the dock sentinel. A sticky element is constrained to its containing block, and that wrapper is only as tall as the bar plus a 1px sentinel, so the bar had roughly 1px of travel. It could never float over the page content and only ever appeared where it naturally sits, at the end of the page. Render the bar and the sentinel as siblings so the containing block is Page.Root and the bar has the full page to travel. Measured in headless Chrome at scrollY=600 in a 713px viewport: wrapped bar bottom was 2484 (off screen), sibling bar bottom is 713, pinned to the viewport. Also raise the bar from z-10 to z-50. The editor root is relative z-50, so it painted over the bar on any settings page with an editor, such as the course welcome email. Matching 50 rather than exceeding it wins the tie on DOM order while keeping body-portaled dialogs and sheets above the bar. ref is now bound to the sticky element rather than the removed wrapper. No dashboard caller binds ref today. |

fix(newsfeed): tighten card spacing and reposition pinned icon (#818)
* fix(newsfeed): tighten card spacing and reposition pinned icon - Move pinned icon to top-left corner with a tilted rotation - Remove the extra pin row that added excess top padding - Reduce spacing between post content, reactions, and comments - Remove card box shadow Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> * fix(newsfeed): place pinned icon on card corner instead of avatar Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> * fix(newsfeed): stop dropdown menus locking body scroll bits-ui defaults DropdownMenu.Content's preventScroll to true, so every open ran a body scroll lock: a forced full-document style recalc and reflow, a horizontal shift by the scrollbar width, and pointer-events: none on the body. On the newsfeed page — a long list of cards each with a scrollable comment thread — that made the comment ellipsis menu feel sluggish to open. Menus don't need scroll locking; only modal layers do. Also tighten card spacing, use the primary color for the pinned icon, give the card menu trigger a pointer cursor, and switch the comment save and submit buttons to the loading and secondary variants. * refactor(newsfeed): store reply targets as data, not markup Replies used to prepend a presentational <blockquote> — Tailwind classes, hardcoded English and a copied snippet of the parent — onto the comment body, and that whole string was persisted to course_newsfeed_comment.content. Editing a reply therefore showed raw markup in the textarea, the quoted snippet froze at write time, the label could never be localized, and two of its ui: utilities never compiled because they appeared only in dashboard code. Add a replyToCommentId column, distinct from parentId (the thread root), so a reply can name the comment it answers. The service verifies the target belongs to the same feed and the same thread; the paginated query joins it to return replyToAuthorFullname, so the label is rendered from live data by the new CommentTree.ReplyingTo component using the existing replying_to key. Rows written the old way still display their stored quote, and stripLegacyReplyQuote keeps that markup out of the edit textarea. * refactor(newsfeed): drop redundant comments on reply target plumbing * fix(newsfeed): address review feedback on pinned icon and quote stripping - The pin icon carried an unprefixed `text-muted-foreground` plus `ui:stroke-primary`, which is emitted nowhere because it appears only in dashboard code, so the outline fell back to the muted colour. Use `ui:text-primary` and let the stroke inherit currentColor. - Give the pinned state an accessible name: the icon is `aria-hidden`, and header.svelte no longer carries an indicator, so screen readers had nothing. - Filter feeds on `isPinned` alone. `is_pinned` is only the database column name; drizzle maps it to `isPinned` and the API never returns the snake_case form, so the `as any` fallback was dead and let the page and card disagree. - `ui:transition-color` is not a Tailwind utility and emitted nothing; the plural `ui:transition-colors` is what applies the transition. - Strip a legacy reply quote only when the blockquote carries the `reply-quote` class the old code always wrote, so a blockquote the author typed is kept. * docs(agents): forbid presentational markup in persisted content columns --------- |

feat(ui): add AttachmentList component for lesson file attachments (#822)
* feat(ui): add AttachmentList component for lesson file attachments Introduce a reusable AttachmentList molecule with view and edit modes. View mode shows a header with file count and view/download actions; edit mode supports drag-to-reorder, view, and delete. Includes Storybook stories and package exports. Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> * fix(ui): address AttachmentList PR review feedback - Sync edit-mode file state using full metadata signature, not IDs only - Clamp formatFileSize unit index and guard non-finite inputs - Recognize common MIME types for file-type icon styling - Scope role=list to row container; use dragHandleZone for reordering - Add reorder label for drag handle accessibility Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> * fix(ui): guard AttachmentList against undefined files prop Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> * fix(ui): render AttachmentList stories and guard missing props Use Storybook template snippets and default args so stories mount correctly. Default mode and labels in the component for autodocs, and align dragHandleZone items with rendered rows. Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> * feat(dashboard): use AttachmentList on lesson documents tab Replace the horizontal DocumentCard grid with AttachmentList in view and edit modes, including drag-to-reorder in edit. Tighten the list header to p-2 with xs text, add document mapping helpers, and translate new labels. Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> * fix(dashboard): reset document upload modal state on close Clear selected file, success message, and upload progress when the add document modal closes so reopening starts fresh. Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> * fix(dashboard): raise PDF viewer above sidebar and AI chat Use z-modal (200) instead of z-100 so the full-screen PDF overlay stacks above z-app-bar-elevated (150) course sidebar and z-app-bar (100) AI panel. Add the missing z-modal utility to dashboard app.css to mirror the UI scale. Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> * chore: minor changes * feat(dashboard): show spinner and snackbar on document download AttachmentList download button now shows the Button loading spinner immediately while the async download runs. On success, a snackbar confirms the download; on failure, an error snackbar is shown instead of opening a new tab. Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> * fix(ui): address PR review feedback on AttachmentList - Reject negative byte counts in formatFileSize instead of using Math.abs - Make AttachmentList mode/files/labels props optional; disable cross-list drops - Include file name in drag-handle aria-label for screen readers - Prevent upload modal from closing while an upload is in progress - Use ICU plural rules for attachment file_count across all locales Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> --------- Co-authored-by: Cursor Agent <cursoragent@cursor.com> Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> |

feat(ui): Page.SettingsActions for settings save bar (#819)
* feat(ui): add Page.SettingsActions for settings save bar Introduce a sticky bottom save/discard bar on Page and migrate settings pages to use it instead of header or inline save buttons. Includes profile, org, customize-lms, notifications, auth, AI tutor, course settings, certificates, and cohort settings. Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> * fix(ui): always show Page.SettingsActions, disable when clean Keep the settings save bar visible at all times and disable Save and Discard when hasChanges is false instead of hiding the bar entirely. Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> * fix(ui): add bottom spacing and shadow to Page.SettingsActions Wrap the actions card in a sticky container with bottom padding so it does not sit flush against the viewport edge, and use shadow-md on the card for clearer elevation. Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> * fix(ui): stop viewport-sticking Page.SettingsActions on scroll Remove sticky bottom positioning so the save bar stays at the end of the page content and scrolls away when viewing upper sections. Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> * fix(ui): use sticky bottom for Page.SettingsActions dock behavior Replace the IntersectionObserver fixed/dock toggle that caused layout thrashing and flipping with native position: sticky; bottom: 0. Move overflow-x-hidden from Page.Root to Page.Body so sticky is not broken. Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> * fix(ui): keep Page.SettingsActions sticky and above editor content Page.Root carried md:overflow-x-auto, which makes overflow-y compute to auto, turning the root into the sticky bar's nearest scrolling ancestor. Since the root sizes to its content it never scrolls internally, so the bar rendered at its natural flow position instead of pinning to the viewport. Drop the overflow so sticky resolves against the viewport; horizontal containment stays on Page.Body. Raise the bar to z-50 so it is not painted over by the editor root, which is relative z-50. Matching rather than exceeding 50 keeps body-portaled dialogs and sheets above the bar. Show the shadow only while the bar is pinned away from its flow position, tracked with an IntersectionObserver on a 1px sentinel sibling. Unlike the previous observer this toggles a box-shadow only, so it cannot feed back into layout. * fix(ui): tighten settings actions spacing and tab visibility - Remove mt-6 and lower z-index so popovers sit above the bar - Wrap sentinel in a single root to avoid extra Page.Root flex gap - Remove Page.Body mb-4 redundant with settings actions spacing - Show certificate save bar only on the settings tab - Raise theme color picker z-index via --picker-z-index Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> * fix(dashboard): address PR review feedback for settings actions - Capture profile/org saved baselines only on initial load, not on edits - Reset course settings errors with explicit field shape in handleDiscard - Restore VisitOrgSiteButton on org profile settings header - Derive AI tutor dirty state from stores directly instead of mirrored state - Use discard-specific French label and document SettingsActions props Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> * docs(ui): clarify Page.Root ownership for Page.SettingsActions "Last child of Page.Root" is a runtime relationship. Several settings pages get their Page.Root from a +layout.svelte, so the page file holds only Page.Header, Page.Body, and Page.SettingsActions. Document that this is correct and list the pages, since adding a nested Page.Root stacks two min-height containers and shortens the sticky bar's containing block. Also document that Page.SettingsActions must never be rendered from inside Page.Body: overflow-x-hidden makes Page.Body a scroll container that never scrolls, so a sticky bar in it has no travel. --------- |

fix(ui): show disabled state on course landing hero CTA (#815)
CoursePrimaryAction used the base Button with per-theme color classes that overrode disabled styling. When enrollment was closed, the pricing CTA appeared correctly muted while the hero Buy Now button still looked active. Switch the hero CTA to LandingButton (same primitive as pricing) and reset theme color overrides when disabled so both CTAs look and behave consistently. |

feat(exercise): add open-ended thumbs up/down question type (#780)
* feat(ui): add THUMBS question type renderer - Add seven new renderer files under renderers/thumbs/: thumbs-correct.ts, take.svelte, edit.svelte, preview.svelte, thumbs-review-toggle.svelte, review.svelte, submission.svelte - Register THUMBS in renderer-contract.ts with edit/take/preview/submission/review - Export ThumbsEdit, ThumbsTake, ThumbsPreview, ThumbsSubmission, ThumbsReview from exercise-question/index.ts - Add THUMBS_FIXTURE, four thumbs label keys, and Thumbs story in storybook exercise-question files - Add THUMBS case to question-type-modes.svelte submission builder Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> * feat(question-types): add THUMBS contracts, scoring, and seed Introduce the THUMBS question type (id 14) with boolean answer data, codec, auto-grading, Zod validation, DB seed/schema docs, and binary normalize support shared with TRUE_FALSE. Dashboard wiring is deferred. Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> * feat(dashboard): wire THUMBS question type into exercise UI Connect THUMBS option sync in edit/view modes, labels, picker icon, and locale strings so the existing contracts surface in the dashboard. Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> * fix(ui): polish thumbs question UI and move premium upgrade icon Widen thumbs Yes/No toggles, inherit selected icon color via custom class, replace badge-based review correctness with solid fill states and bare Check/X icons, add a success pill in preview, and place the premium upgrade icon at the end of the question type select row. Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> * fix(ui): align thumbs review colors with prototypes Tune correct/incorrect selected states so review buttons use dark emerald/red content colors on solid fills, matching the design comps. Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> * fix(ui): address remaining PR review comments Use a shared timestamp local in thumbs edit fallback options. Move border-beam animation-delay after the animation shorthand. Alias --spacing to --ui-spacing for tw-animate compatibility. Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> * fix(db): sync question_type sequence before seeding new types Avoid duplicate key errors when question_type_id_seq lags behind rows inserted via restore or explicit ids (e.g. THUMBS on restored databases). Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> * fix(exercise): resolve thumbs review label ICU crash Remove {value} ICU placeholder from thumbs.review.correct_answer_label since labels are resolved at map-build time without context. Append the dynamic yes/no label in thumbs-review-toggle instead. Also bind question points through the questionnaire store index to avoid the Svelte non-reactive property binding warning in edit-mode. Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> * docs(agent): add THUMBS guidance and sync question type docs Add shared agent question-type guide helpers in @cio/question-types and use them across the teacher prompt, add/update_questions tool schemas, legacy ai-assistant schemas, and MCP exercise tools. - Document when to use THUMBS (Yes/No sentiment) vs TRUE_FALSE (factual) - Fix stale MCP question type ids and add THUMBS=14 - Exclude disabled MATCHING/HOTSPOT from enabled type lists Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> * fix(thumbs): clarify auto-grading and add editable option labels THUMBS is auto-graded like TRUE_FALSE; the difference is thumbs UI with customizable Yes/No-style labels and the teacher selecting the correct option. Render take/preview/review from question.options labels and add label inputs in the thumbs edit renderer. Update agent and MCP docs to stop implying THUMBS is manual or non-gradable. Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> * chore(mcp): bump version to 0.0.10 Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> * fix(question-types): make THUMBS open-ended with no correct answer THUMBS is a sentiment/poll question type, not an auto-graded binary like TRUE_FALSE. Remove correct-answer UI, scoring, and validation; update agent and MCP docs accordingly. Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> * fix(dashboard): stop treating THUMBS as auto-graded in editor validation Normalize thumbs questions on load/save, show an Open-ended badge instead of Auto, and only enforce points/correct-answer rules on auto-gradable types. Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> * revert(dashboard): remove unsolicited open-ended grading badge THUMBS uses the existing Manual badge like other non-auto-gradable types. Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> * fix(exercise): show question title validation errors in editor Display mapped title errors beneath the question title input instead of only highlighting the question card border. Pass the exercise entity to mapZodErrorsToTranslations so messages resolve to validations.exercise.* keys, and use a translated snackbar key for save validation failures. Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> * fix(mcp): build workspace deps before MCP publish bundle The MCP esbuild step imports @cio/question-types and @cio/utils dist outputs. CI failed on a clean checkout because mcp:build only built the MCP package itself. Build those dependencies first so 0.0.10 can publish. fix(dashboard): align hero enroll CTA with pricing section (#810)
The hero Enroll button was disabled unless metadata.allowNewStudent was explicitly true, while the pricing CTA treated unset values as open (matching the enroll page and API). This left the hero button inert on courses where enrollment was allowed but the flag was not set. Also sync pricing CTA disabled state, use activeOrg for paid enroll on public org-site pages, and keep hero/pricing disabled flags aligned via alignHeroCtaWithPricing. fix(jobs): survive Redis Cloud maintenance reconnects without crashing API (#775)
* fix(jobs): survive Redis Cloud maintenance reconnects BullMQ duplicates ioredis connections without inheriting error listeners, so Redis Cloud maintenance (ECONNABORTED) crashed the API process. Attach error handlers on duplicates, harden reconnect options for failover, and add API process-level safety nets. Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> * refactor(jobs): address review feedback on Redis resilience fix - reconnectOnError returns 2 for READONLY/LOADING so the failed command is resent against the newly promoted primary after failover - export prepareRedisConnection and test the real implementation instead of a reimplemented copy; add a no-double-listener regression case - API uncaughtException now reports to Sentry and fails fast (flush + exit 1) so the orchestrator restarts cleanly instead of running in an undefined state Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> * fix(api): don't fail-fast on transient Redis errors in process guard End-to-end testing (restarting Redis to simulate Cloud maintenance) revealed node-redis surfaces reconnect failures as an uncaught AggregateError [ECONNREFUSED], which the fail-fast uncaughtException guard turned into a process exit. Classify transient Redis/socket errors (incl. AggregateError sub-errors) and log-and-continue for those; still fail fast on unknown errors. Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> * fix(api): address PR review on Redis process guards and logging - Fail fast on non-transient unhandledRejection (Greptile) - Filter Sentry OnUncaughtException/OnUnhandledRejection integrations to avoid double-capture; keep custom guards with transient Redis filtering - Make wrapDuplicate idempotent; throttle reconnect/error logs during maintenance - Drop READONLY/LOADING from node-redis transient classifier (command-level only) Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> * fix(api): rate-limit transient Redis warnings in process guards Reuse logTransientRedisEvent from core so maintenance bursts do not flood logs from uncaughtException/unhandledRejection handlers. chore(docs): migrate the docs site from Fumadocs to Blume (#753)
* Update documentation for ClassroomIO: change Fumadocs to Blume, revise MDX format conventions, and clarify sidebar navigation requirements. * docs: update README and scripts for improved preview and error handling * docs: update Discord link in configuration and documentation * docs: add token-auth route and update documentation formatting * Fix formatting in auto-comment-issues.yml * Fix JSON syntax by adding a comma * fix(docs): declare Blume's Astro build deps so Cloudflare build resolves them blume build generates an Astro project under apps/docs/.blume/ that imports astro, @astrojs/mdx, @tailwindcss/vite, tailwindcss, @tailwindcss/typography, @shikijs/twoslash and @scalar/astro. Under pnpm's isolated node_modules these are nested inside blume and not resolvable from the docs app, so a clean --frozen-lockfile build (Cloudflare) fails at 'Cannot find module astro/config'. Declare them directly in @cio/docs, pinned to blume's resolved versions. * refactor(docs): update API reference paths and documentation for clarity * fix: change platofrm url to docs home page * Refactor documentation for self-hosting ClassroomIO - Removed the Supabase Cloud setup guide as it is no longer needed. - Updated the Enterprise SSO documentation to include a reference link for SSO & licensing. - Added new documentation for Content Security Policy (CSP) configuration. - Created a new section for configuring SMTP for email notifications. - Introduced a comprehensive configuration index for self-hosted ClassroomIO, detailing environment variables and their usage. - Added documentation for optional integrations including Google OAuth, OpenAI, and Unsplash. - Documented the generation and usage of required secrets for ClassroomIO. - Created a section for SSO & licensing, detailing the requirements for Enterprise features. - Added object storage configuration documentation, covering both bundled MinIO and external S3-compatible services. - Documented versioning and upgrade processes for ClassroomIO. - Updated the Coolify and Docker self-hosting guides to streamline configuration references and upgrade instructions. - Enhanced the Railway self-hosting guide with links to relevant configuration sections. - Updated token authentication documentation to reference SSO & licensing. * Add comprehensive guides for ClassroomIO features and functionalities - Introduced a new guide for the Student Dashboard, detailing navigation and features available to students. - Added a guide on using Tags for organizing and filtering courses within ClassroomIO. - Created a guide on how to take attendance in courses, including marking attendance and related functionalities. - Developed a Terminology guide to clarify key terms used throughout ClassroomIO. - Implemented a Token Auth guide for signing users into ClassroomIO from external applications using JWT. - Added instructions for using math in the editor with LaTeX support. - Created a guide for customizing the welcome email sent to students upon enrollment in courses. - Added a guide explaining what ClassroomIO is and its key features. - Updated the home documentation to provide a clearer overview of ClassroomIO and its resources. - Enhanced self-hosted configuration documentation with a new guide for deploying ClassroomIO on Dokploy. - Updated links in the self-hosted configuration documentation for better navigation. - Added new images to support the Dokploy deployment guide. - Updated asset packaging script to handle redirects for the new guide structure. - Fixed footer link to point to the correct Getting Started guide. * chore: uprage version * feat(docs): add DigitalOcean deployment guide and flatten guides structure - Add a guide for deploying ClassroomIO on DigitalOcean using Docker Compose and Caddy for automatic HTTPS. - List DigitalOcean as a deployment option in the self-hosting index. - Move guides out of content/docs/guides into content/docs (student-dashboard, tags, terminology, token-auth, what-is-classroomio, audience, cohorts, community, course, enterprise-sso, mcp, organization, quickstart/*). - Rename home.mdx to index.mdx. - Update package-assets script to emit redirects for the old guides paths. --------- Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <best@classroomio.com> |

fix: canonical exercise completion, teacher course completion & upsert member fixes (#767)
* fix(db): preserve not-found error and dedupe member lookup in upsert (#763) Re-throw Organization member not found so the service layer can return 404. Fetch existing notification prefs by resolved member id instead of calling getOrganizationMemberEmailNotifications, which repeated the lookup. Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> * fix(course): single source of truth for exercise completion; let teachers complete courses Exercise completion was computed four different ways (course progress, enrolled courses, content items, progression locks), and two of them counted any submission as complete, ignoring the exercise's 'passed' completion policy and pass threshold. My Learning and certificate eligibility could therefore report 100% while the course itself showed an unpassed exercise. - Add isExerciseCompletedSql, a policy-aware SQL predicate in the db query layer, and route every completion computation through it (getCourseProgress, getEnrolledCourses, getCourseContentItems, getCompletedExerciseIdsForMember, isExerciseCompletedForMember). - Remove the per-exercise N+1 pass checks in progression and the duplicated policy interpretation in the submission service. - Fix infinite "Checking eligibility" modal on the certificates page: open the completion modal in its final state instead of 'checking' with no follow-up. - Align teacher experience with students: certificate eligibility no longer requires the student role, completion modal triggers for any enrolled member, teachers can view/download their earned certificate, and video-watch progress tracks in the student experience regardless of org role. * chore: run api:dev without prebuild; keep full build as api:dev:full * fix(dashboard): gate video watch tracking on learner view * feat: pr reviews --------- Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> |

fix(billing): downgrade orgs when Polar subscription is revoked (#759)

refactor(billing): system email + single-query backfill for the student cap (#735)
* refactor(billing): make student-limit email a system email; tighten backfill query
- Fetch free-plan orgs over the student limit in a single query
(getFreePlanOrganizationsOverStudentLimit) instead of loading all orgs and
counting each in memory; the backfill script now just fans out admin emails.
- Report a dry-run summary: how many free orgs are over the limit, how many
with admins, total admin emails, and how many were skipped for having none.
- Reclassify the student-limit email as a system (ClassroomIO-branded) email
rather than org-branded — it's the platform telling an admin about their
plan. Drop the `branding` field and org masthead/theme; both callers updated.
- Reword the email to explain why it's sent (new students are being turned
away) and that it's throttled to once a day, so it doesn't read as spam.
- Document the system-vs-org-branded email distinction in AGENTS.md.
* feat(billing): send student-limit emails on milestone crossings, once each
Stop emailing admins on every blocked attempt. Instead notify once when the
org crosses a student-count milestone:
- 50% of the limit → new studentLimitApproaching email (heads-up).
- 100% (limit reached) → studentLimitReached email.
Crossings are detected in assertStudentCapacityOrThrow on the allowed path
(blocked attempts no longer email). "Already notified" is persisted on
organization.settings.studentLimitNotified so each milestone fires at most
once, ever — surviving restarts, no per-day approximation. The backfill script
uses the same flag, making reruns idempotent (skips already-notified orgs and
marks them after sending). Email copy updated to explain the trigger and that
it's a one-time-per-milestone message.
* fix(email): use z.url() and drop the frequency footnotes on student-limit emails
Address PR review: `upgradeUrl` uses `z.url()`; remove the "once a day / once
per milestone" footnote lines from both the reached and approaching emails.
* set track={false}

feat(billing): enforce free-plan student cap across the app (#733)
* feat(billing): enforce free-plan student cap across the app
Free (BASIC) plan orgs were able to exceed the advertised 20-student
limit because the cap existed only as dashboard cosmetic copy with no
server-side enforcement.
Add a single source of truth (getStudentLimit / STUDENT_LIMITS) and a
central guard (assertStudentCapacityOrThrow) wired into every path that
creates a new student-role org member: self-enrolment, course-invite
acceptance, bulk audience import, and org-invite acceptance. The guard
throws UPGRADE_REQUIRED (403) and notifies org admins by email (throttled
to once per org per day) when the limit is hit.
Surface the limit in the UI: disable the audience import button and the
course new-student invite section with upgrade banners for admins, and
show a "contact your administrator" message on the public enrol page for
students (who cannot upgrade). Expose a studentLimitReached flag from the
public course endpoint so the enrol button can be disabled proactively.
Add a one-time (manual, non-cron) db script,
db:notify-students-over-limit, to email admins of orgs already over the
limit at rollout.
* feat(billing): guard remaining student-creating paths against the cap
The initial cap enforcement missed several service entry points that also
create a new student-role org member. Add the capacity guard to:
- autoEnrollStudent (public org self-join on a tenant site)
- cohort enrollment (bulk group enrollment and single member accept)
- ensureProgramCourseAccess (program/cohort-granted course access)
For the cohort and program paths, only genuinely new members are counted
(existing org members are skipped) so re-enrolling current students is
never falsely blocked. The core path enforces via the shared limit check;
it throws UPGRADE_REQUIRED without the admin email since the queue lives
in the api layer.
* fix(billing): don't show cap block to existing org members on enroll page
The public course-by-slug endpoint is unauthenticated, so the enroll
page's studentLimitReached flag is org-wide and can't tell whether the
current viewer is already an org member. An existing student of a full
BASIC org would see Join disabled even though the backend correctly lets
existing members enroll without consuming a new seat.
Only pre-block anonymous visitors (would-be new joiners). Logged-in users
are governed by the membership-aware backend, which allows existing
members and returns UPGRADE_REQUIRED (surfaced via the enroll onError
mapping) for genuinely new students.
* feat(billing): deliver org plan-limits via /account with an extensible registry
Replace the ad-hoc, per-surface audience fetches (each calling getOrgAudience
just to read a count) with a single, future-proof delivery of org usage +
limits on the /account payload, gated to admin/tutor members (students never
receive limit data; a plain COUNT, no student rows).
Model it generically so future org limits (courses, etc.) drop in without
reshaping the payload or re-plumbing the frontend:
- New packages/utils plan-limits registry: PLAN_LIMIT_RESOURCES, PLAN_LIMITS
(reuses STUDENT_LIMITS), getPlanLimit, and a JSON-safe ResourceUsage /
OrgUsageLimits shape with isResourceLimitReached / resourceLimitRemaining.
- getAccountData attaches a per-org `limits` map for admin/tutor orgs.
- Store selectors currentOrgLimits / studentUsage / isStudentLimitReached;
sidebars, upgrade card, People pages, and invite modals read these instead
of fetching audience rows.
Bring cohort surfaces to parity with course: cohort People page banner and
cohort sidebar People upgrade icon, matching the course equivalents.
Also: close the upgrade modal that opened over the invite modal (drop the
`add` param via openUpgradeModalOver), redesign the sidebar upgrade card
(progress toward the student limit), add a Progress `variant`, and document
the no-complex-expressions-in-object-literals rule in AGENTS.md.
* refactor(billing): address PR review on the limits work
- Dedupe new student profile IDs before the cohort seat check so duplicate
batch entries can't overcount against the cap (Greptile P1).
- Drive the org-sidebar upgrade indicator from a dynamic nav-item `upgrade`
flag (audience config declares `upgradeResource: 'students'`; groups set it
from a `limitsReached` map) instead of a hardcoded path check.
- Collapse the audience Import button into a single button with ternary
`disabled`/`href`.
- Simplify the notify-students-over-limit upgrade link to app.classroomio.com.
- Drop the comment on the org `limits` field.
- Add .greptile/rules.md documenting the manual one-time db/src/scripts
convention (operator-controlled reruns) so idempotency isn't reflagged.
* fix(billing): name the org in the enroll capacity message
Change the enroll-page student-limit message from "This course has reached
its student capacity" to "{orgName} has reached its student capacity", since
the cap is org-wide, not course-specific. Pass orgName from the loaded org on
the page and from the currentOrg store in the enroll onError snackbar.
* style(billing): use PremiumIcon for the Authentication upgrade indicator
Replace the RocketIcon on paid settings sub-items (e.g. Authentication) with
the PremiumIcon used on the Audience item, right-aligned (ml-auto) to match.

refactor(z-index): introduce a shared named z-index scale (#723)
* refactor(z-index): introduce a shared named z-index scale Replace scattered magic z-index numbers (100, 150, 200, 201, 250) with named layers (z-app-bar, z-app-bar-elevated, z-modal, z-menu-elevated) so intent is documented at each call site and future additions insert predictably instead of colliding. Defined via Tailwind's @utility directive in two places that mirror each other: packages/ui/src/index.css (ui:-prefixed, for components that live in the @cio/ui package) and apps/dashboard/src/app.css (unprefixed, for dashboard-only files) — a ui:-prefixed custom utility only compiles if it is also used somewhere under packages/ui/src, so dashboard-only usages need the unprefixed twin. Also fixes two pre-existing dropdown/select menus (tags-admin.svelte, mark-exercise-modal.svelte) that used ui:z-[250], which never actually compiled to any CSS rule since nothing under packages/ui/src used that exact class. Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> * fix(ui): safelist the packaged z-index scale so it always compiles @utility only emits a class when Tailwind's scanner sees that exact candidate under packages/ui/src, so ui:z-app-bar-elevated and ui:z-menu-elevated were documented but silently missing from the compiled @cio/ui CSS since nothing inside the package itself used them. Safelist all four layers via @source inline() so the shipped scale always matches what's documented, regardless of which layers this package happens to reference internally. Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> * chore(db): add backfill script for stale profile email verification Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> * docs(db): document profile email verification backfill command Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> * fix(auth): never demote profile email verification on sync Greptile: self-hosted first signup can verify profile before user.email_verified is set. Sync now only promotes verification. Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> * fix(auth): promote user.email_verified when profile is verified Self-hosted bootstrap and other flows can set profile.is_email_verified before user.email_verified. Sync and createProfileHook now update both tables when promoting verification. fix(dashboard): save validation feedback, public site light mode, global verify modal (#716)
* fix(dashboard): surface save errors, force public site light mode, global verify modal - Show snackbar with first validation error when course update fails client-side validation - Force light mode on public org-site pages; lesson player and dashboard keep theme selector - Mount VerifyEmailModal in root layout for all authenticated routes; keep trigger=app email guard Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> * fix: instructor editor sync, auto-enroll after auth, email verification API - Initialize instructor form from org fallbacks and batch metadata updates - Auto-complete course enrollment after login/signup return from enroll page - Block new org auto-enroll and course enroll until email is verified Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> * fix: address PR review on instructor setter, color scheme, auto-enroll - Use existing setter with batched metadata.instructor updates in InstructorForm - Allowlist public org-site paths so /lms and /courses/:id keep theme selector - Auto-enroll logged-in users via Better Auth session; remove sessionStorage flow - Retry enrollment after email verification without duplicate Join Course clicks Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> * fix: allow enrollment without verification; gate dashboard only - Remove API email verification checks from enroll and auto-enroll flows - Move VerifyEmailModal to (app) layout so public org-site pages stay usable - Unverified users can enroll but hit the verification modal in LMS/dashboard Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> * fix: address PR feedback on verify modal, routes, instructor form - Restore currentOrg.id guard on VerifyEmailModal open condition - InstructorForm imports currentOrg directly instead of prop drilling - Move public org-site light-mode route patterns to routes constants - Reset enrollment attempt key on enroll failure to allow retry Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> --------- Co-authored-by: Cursor Agent <cursoragent@cursor.com> Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> |

fix(org): favicon fallback, OG logo styling, and Discord embed CDN URLs (#714)
* fix(org): serve OG images from CDN for Discord embeds Discord times out on slow dynamic OG generation (~3-5s). Persist generated images to R2, point meta tags at the media CDN, and warm the API endpoint on org-site page loads so crawlers get a fast static PNG URL. Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> * docs: add org-site Open Graph and favicon guides Document user-facing sharing behavior and contributor architecture for dynamic OG images, favicon fallback, R2/CDN caching, and embed cache invalidation. Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> * fix(org-site): address PR review on OG CDN fallback and docs - Fall back to API OG URL when CDN object is not yet available (HEAD check) - Cancel warm-fetch response body to avoid connection pool exhaustion - Align tenant-router OG edge cache TTL with one-hour API revalidation - Fix favicon docs navigation and add Custom Domain tab screenshot - Replace Chiberry Artistry example with AI Academy Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> * fix(org-site): accept docker hostnames for OG warm URL Use isValidHttpUrl for PRIVATE_SERVER_URL so internal values like http://api:3081 work for SSR warm fetches in Docker Compose. feat(org): dynamic open graph images for school sites (#709)
* feat(org): add dynamic open graph images for school sites Generate branded 1200x630 OG images for org public sites via GET /org/og/:siteName.png. Paying cloud orgs include their landing-page tagline; free plans show a Powered by ClassroomIO watermark. Dashboard org-site meta tags now point at the dynamic image. Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> * feat(org): enable custom favicon upload and org-site rendering Allow org admins to upload a favicon from domain settings, persist it via PUT /organization, and render it on public org sites with logo fallback. Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> * fix(org): scope custom favicon to public org-site routes only Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> * refactor(api): inline org-site OG rendering, remove @cio/og-images package Move template and render helpers into apps/api/src/utils/org-site-og.ts. Certificates stay in a shared package because they support multiple templates; org OG is a single API-only concern. Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> * chore: remove packages/og-images directory Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> * refactor(api): mount org OG image under /org-site/og Align with existing org-site public routes (/org-site/course) instead of a top-level /org prefix. Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> * refactor(plans): consolidate isOrgOnFreePlan into options-based utility Move orgId guard and self-hosted/plan checks into @cio/utils/plans. Dashboard and API callers pass plans, isSelfHosted, and optional orgId directly; remove the dashboard store wrapper. Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> * fix(org): require orgId for free-plan check and translate favicon strings Treat missing orgId as not on free plan so nav gating matches prior behavior when currentOrg is unset. Pass organization.id from OG service. Add favicon settings translations for all non-English locales. Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> * refactor(dashboard): move meta tag helpers to metaTags.server.ts Keep PRIVATE_SERVER_URL resolution in a server-only module so dynamic private env imports cannot leak into universal or client bundles. fix(dashboard): show course cards in landing page settings preview (#697)
* fix(dashboard): show course cards in landing page settings preview Fetch public courses for the org and pass them to the theme preview on the landing page settings screen, matching the editor preview. Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> * refactor(dashboard): skip redundant public course fetches Add loadPublicCoursesIfNeeded so settings, editor, and live landing page reuse cached courses for the same org site instead of clearing and refetching on every mount. Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> * fix(dashboard): always refetch courses on live org landing page Keep loadPublicCoursesIfNeeded for settings preview and editor only. The public-facing landing page should fetch fresh on each visit. Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> * feat(ui): add shared empty state for org landing page catalogs Introduce OrgLandingPageCoursesEmpty using the dashboard Empty pattern with landing-theme colors. Show it across all ten org landing templates when no courses are published, and wire translated labels through buildOrgLandingPageProps. Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> * fix(dashboard): address Greptile review on public courses cache - Add coursesLoaded prop so empty catalog state waits for fetch - Deduplicate concurrent public course requests via in-flight promise - Refresh courses on settings mount; reuse cache in editor only - Expose invalidatePublicCourses for explicit cache clearing Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> * fix(dashboard): load landing preview courses when org store hydrates Replace onMount course fetch with a reactive effect keyed on the route slug and currentOrg.siteName so public courses load after app init. Mark the fetch as complete in finally so failed requests show the empty state instead of a permanently blank catalog section. fix(api): return Zod validation errors from public API routes (#708)
* fix(api): return Zod validation errors from public API routes Public API handlers now surface ZodError details as 400 VALIDATION_ERROR responses instead of generic 500 INTERNAL_ERROR payloads. Course import services also rethrow ZodError so validation failures are not wrapped as server errors. Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> * refactor(utils): centralize course type values without db dependency Define COURSE_TYPE_VALUES once in @cio/utils/constants and use it for ZCourseType validation and the Drizzle COURSE_TYPE pgEnum. Removes the circular @cio/utils -> @cio/db import while keeping course-import schemas aligned with all four course types including PUBLIC. Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> * fix(validation): default missing course metadata allowNewStudent to true Courses stored without allowNewStudent in metadata failed structure export validation. Align Zod preprocessing with runtime behavior where absent values mean enrollments are open. fix(ui): respect iframe width and height in org landing embed section (#706)
Embed iframes were placed inside flex column layouts without shrink protection, so authored width/height attributes could be ignored when the preview panel was narrower than the iframe. Parse dimensions from pasted embed code and size a dedicated host wrapper so the iframe renders at the intended dimensions while still scaling down with max-width: 100%. feat(api): public API plan gating, docs auth, and dashboard snippets (#701)
* fix(automation): align public API plan gating across cloud and self-hosted Add shared canUsePublicApi helper so cloud allows Early Adopter and Enterprise while self-hosted requires Enterprise. Update the API key dashboard page and backend key creation checks to use the same rules. Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> * docs(api): document bearer auth on public API reference Add shared OpenAPI enrichment with bearerAuth security scheme and authentication instructions. The interactive reference now loads an enriched spec with Authorize support, and the API guide explains how to create and use org API keys. Co-authored-by: Rotimi Best <rotimi-best@users.noreply.github.com> * feat(dashboard): add API quick-start code snippets on automation page Mirror the MCP client setup section with cURL, JavaScript, and Python examples that show how to authenticate public API requests with org keys.
